Terminator: For Kids

Posted by Robert on May 5, 2008

I will be back…for the kids.

Yes,Halcyon Co., producers of the new Terminator movie, will be gunning for the PG-13 rating once it comes out on May 22, 2009. The producers think that by broadening the target market, they can rake in more cash on the box office, compared to making a movie with an R-rating.

“Our merchandising program will be the largest to date for ‘The Terminator,’ ” said Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Derek Anderson, ex-owner of ad agency In the Mix, who adds that he had not discussed the possibility of an R-rating with Warners. “We won’t force it. We are carrying on in the tradition of the mythology, with an exciting approach to the action. If we can make a compelling film to reach the widest audience, why wouldn’t we do it?”

People are pretty amazed how close Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo was at Ashlee Simpson’s wedding considering that they have broken up. Jessican and Tony have broken up a countless times and before the wedding, they’ve had another of their break ups. It is said that Tony Romo’s attendance in the wedding was a “test” that he needed to pass if there was any hope of keeping their on and off relationship alive. And it was pretty clear for Tony Romo that he had to go as Jessica’s wedding date to show hope that their relationship can still work out

Lindsay Lohan already made it clear that appearing on “Living Lohan,” a reality series in E! does not interest her at all. The series is supposed to be starred by her mother Dina and her sister, Ali. Dina said that she told Lohan that doing reality TV could have negative effect on her career that’s why she does not want her on the show. Back in March, Lindsay was also overheard telling friends that she would not be on the show. It is quite an interesting statement since Dina has once said that reality is the new direction of entertainment today.

Lex Luthor Leaves Smallville

Posted by Robert on May 1, 2008

What is Superman without Lex Luthor? We’ll all get to find out because the actor playing Lex on the TV series Smallville is leaving according to a statement by CW and Warner Bros.

“While Michael won’t be a series regular, and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor,” the show’s executive producers said in a statement. “Stay tuned.”

Two villains for the price of one? Yes, with Lex moving out, two new villains will be joining the crew. Doomsday, the alien being who killed Superman (for a few months) and an antagonist female whose sole purpose seems to be challenging Clark.

Sandra and Jesse Survives Head On Crash

Posted by Robert on Apr 19, 2008

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James got into a head-on collision crash and survived.

“Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were in a car accident last night,” the actress’ rep, Cheryl Maisel, told E! News. “They are fine.”

The whole thing happened last night as the couple and their driver were cruising down the highway with their 2008 Chevy SUV. When all of a sudden, a Subaru Forester station wagon jumped lanes and ran against the flow of traffic. Then their SUV hits the car smack in the front.

It all ended well, though. The two stars, their driver, and the drunk driver did not sustained any serious damage.

Naomi Boycotts BA!

Posted by Robert on Apr 17, 2008

Naomi Campbell was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time, at the wrong mood when the spitting incident happened. Don’t blame her she’s been walking the runways of various locations in the world, the last thing she needs is a lost luggage.

British Airlines can’t ban her because she’s boycotting them!

“Someone from B.A. called me and asked that I return to fly with them, but this will not occur so early,” the 37-year-old grudge-holder said Wednesday. “They didn’t find my bag—said it wasn’t in the system—and there was a complete disrespect for the passengers.”

“I am not speaking for myself. I am speaking for all those who have been disrespected.”

Reps from the airline say, they never called her.

Ghost in Spielberg’s Shell

Posted by Robert on Apr 14, 2008

We didn’t know Steven Speilberg was such an anime lover.

The director fought off Universal and Sony in aquiring the rights for the Japanese manga, “Ghost in a Shell.” His company, Dreamworks, is planning to turn this scifi-philo-thriller animation into a 3-D live-action feature.

So what is it about? The story is about a cyborg member of a Japanese National Public Safety Commission covert ops group that handles tech-related crimes. The series was created by Masamune Shirow and was first published in manga form in 1989. Since then it’s gone wild on nearly all media: two more manga novels, three anime film adaptations, an anime TV series, and three video games.

“ ’Ghost in the Shell’ is one of my favorite stories,” Spielberg said. “It’s a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks.”

The Full Harry

Posted by Robert on Apr 9, 2008

Daniel Radcliffe, or better yet: Harry Puffer, must’ve sent Harry Potter’s fans look at him twice after he dressed up in his birthday suit in last year’s Equus. Now that he’s 18, he’ll be showing off his acting skills and every part of his naked body in the Broadway revival of the said London production.

Previews begin on Sept. 25 and opening night on Sept. 25 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Radcliffe seems to be nervous and excited to don (or un-don) the role again. “It will be amazing,” he told Reuters. “But I will be terrified because I was talking to [co-star] Richard Griffiths about playing New York, and he said the most stupid thing you can do is underestimate New York audiences.”

Lowe Brought Low

Posted by Robert on Apr 7, 2008

Did he or didn’t he?

Rob Lowe did a preemptive strike against his ex-nanny, Laura Boyce, by suing her in Los Angeles Superior Court. He claimed that his babysitter violated strict confidentiality agreement and is spreading “malicious lies” about his family.

On the Huffington Post, the 80’s heartthrob wrote that the defendant, along with another nanny and chef) were planning to blackmail him into paying $1.5 million or the woman will be accusing him and his wife of a vicious laundry list of false terribles.

Lowe felt betrayed. “My family is devastated at this betrayal; this woman worked in our home and traveled with us off and on for seven years, without complaint.”
