A California man was “welcomed to the legal jungle” when he was charged with illegally disseminating tracks of Guns N’ Roses’ much anticipated album “Chinese Democracy”. Kevin Cogill, a 27-year-old blogger with the nickname Skwerl, uploaded tracks from the album on his home in June, and was arrested in Aug. 27. He pleaded not guilty. The juvenile admitted to putting the tracks in his site but would not disclose how he got the copy. After the arrest, Axl Rose, lead singer of the band, wanted to know more on where and whom the original source came from. Cogill will face five years in a federal state penitentiary if found guilty of the illegal activity. But before he can be convicted, the prosecutors must prove without reasonable doubt that the boy did this for profit. Trial date is yet to be set.

Remembering Paul Newman

Posted by editor on Sep 29, 2008

Let us take a moment to remember Paul Newman (1925-2008), one of the older generation’s certified major star. Just this week, he died at home due to complications arising from cancer. He was one of the most respected and admired celebrity, appearing in films like Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid,with Robert Redford, Cool Hand Luke & most recently, the 2002 film Road To Perdition with Tom Hanks. For all the kids out there, he was the voice of Doc Hudson from the Disney-Pixar movie Cars.

He and actress Joanne Woodward, is hailed as one of the most stellar examples of marriage, having achieved 50 years together, in a world where marriage is often transitory and fleeting. He was also a genuine philanthropist, founding Newman’s Own, a line of food products that donates all proceeds of the sale to charity. He will be sadly missed.

One year after almost executing her career on the MTV Video Music Awards stage, it’s been incorrigible that Britney Spears will be recurring to the VMAs on Sunday to kick off their 25th anniversary formal procedure. Unfortunately, unlike last year where the singer opened up the show with a disastrous, scantily clad performance of “Gimme More,” MTV has announced that Brit will not be singing this time around.

“MTV has long played an important role in my career,” the pop superstar said after today’s announcement. “How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMA’s? I’m excited to open the whole show, to say hi to my fans and to be listed.”

Brit is scheduled this year for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year for her hit song, “Piece of Me.”

Van Toffler, President of MTV Networks had this to say about the choice to have Brit back. “Britney has done the whole thing from perform with a snake, lock lips with Madonna and prove that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always wait in Vegas. I can’t wait to see what she does to kick off this year’s show.”

Terminator: For Kids

I will be back…for the kids.

Yes,Halcyon Co., producers of the new Terminator movie, will be gunning for the PG-13 rating once it comes out on May 22, 2009. The producers think that by broadening the target market, they can rake in more cash on the box office, compared to making a movie with an R-rating.

“Our merchandising program will be the largest to date for ‘The Terminator,’ ” said Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Derek Anderson, ex-owner of ad agency In the Mix, who adds that he had not discussed the possibility of an R-rating with Warners. “We won’t force it. We are carrying on in the tradition of the mythology, with an exciting approach to the action. If we can make a compelling film to reach the widest audience, why wouldn’t we do it?”

Lex Luthor Leaves Smallville

Posted by Robert on May 1, 2008

What is Superman without Lex Luthor? We’ll all get to find out because the actor playing Lex on the TV series Smallville is leaving according to a statement by CW and Warner Bros.

“While Michael won’t be a series regular, and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor,” the show’s executive producers said in a statement. “Stay tuned.”

Two villains for the price of one? Yes, with Lex moving out, two new villains will be joining the crew. Doomsday, the alien being who killed Superman (for a few months) and an antagonist female whose sole purpose seems to be challenging Clark.

Sandra and Jesse Survives Head On Crash

Posted by Robert on Apr 19, 2008

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James got into a head-on collision crash and survived.

“Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were in a car accident last night,” the actress’ rep, Cheryl Maisel, told E! News. “They are fine.”

The whole thing happened last night as the couple and their driver were cruising down the highway with their 2008 Chevy SUV. When all of a sudden, a Subaru Forester station wagon jumped lanes and ran against the flow of traffic. Then their SUV hits the car smack in the front.

It all ended well, though. The two stars, their driver, and the drunk driver did not sustained any serious damage.

Naomi Boycotts BA!

Posted by Robert on Apr 17, 2008

Naomi Campbell was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time, at the wrong mood when the spitting incident happened. Don’t blame her she’s been walking the runways of various locations in the world, the last thing she needs is a lost luggage.

British Airlines can’t ban her because she’s boycotting them!

“Someone from B.A. called me and asked that I return to fly with them, but this will not occur so early,” the 37-year-old grudge-holder said Wednesday. “They didn’t find my bag—said it wasn’t in the system—and there was a complete disrespect for the passengers.”

“I am not speaking for myself. I am speaking for all those who have been disrespected.”

Reps from the airline say, they never called her.
